Introduction to Leak Tightness Tester Under Bending and Pressure (ISO 3503)

In water and sewage distribution networks, pipes and fittings are rarely installed in a perfectly straight line. Ground settling or environmental pressures cause bending at the connection points (Joints). The Leak Tightness Tester under Bending manufactured by Polymer Test simulates precisely these rigorous conditions to ensure that O-rings and mechanical joints maintain their seal even when curved/bent.

Operating Mechanism: Combined Stress Simulation

This test is one of the most challenging evaluations for fittings as it applies two forces simultaneously:

  1. Internal Pressure: Water is pumped into the pipe at a specific pressure (typically by connecting to our Hydrostatic Pressure Tester).
  2. Bending Force: Simultaneously, the machine’s powerful motor and gearbox system bend the pipe to a specified radius. If a single drop of water escapes from the joint in this state, the sample fails.
